Bukit Timah Nature Reserve Trip on 15 Aug

Big buttress roots. The tree is really huge!!

This is a leaf litter plant. It does not have any branches but have spiralling leaves. They trap falling leaves and absorb nutrients directly as the leaves decompose. COOL right?

The group of us walking up the stairs. Can you see the fog? That's something u see only after the rain. Feels so good! Like deep inside some mysterious forest.

A big rotting log. Its very funny to see a whole group of us standing there and trying to imagine wat's happening in the log.

More fog. So pretty! imagine looking at the hills in the midst of fog through branches right in Singapore!

Steep slope! SO scary. Towards the middle for the walk, we were so busy trying to watch our steps to notice the trees around us!

Nature's traffic light. Very pretty right? Its artificial lah. In the sense that they were not arranged this place naturally. But the colours are very nice.

This tree is amazing. Its very very tall but the trunk is hollow! The oblong holes are formed naturally to give the stem a lattice like effect. Gradually the trunk becomes hollow like this. I wonder how it supports the tree and how it transport water and food. I mean, where are the xylems and phloems??

Yeah!! We are finally at the summit!

A budding new life... I manged to spot it amongst mess.

A very long millipede/centipede or watever pede lah. Its very big but cant really see well coz got no comparing objects. I dare not put my finger there for comparision coz its too scary. But u can compare with the leaves ard it. Those are std size leaves. THe pede wa abt 4 to 5 inches long.

Well, i never fully appreciate trees and our nature reserve until the trip. Should reall go back again.
