i wanted to blog about this last week but it slipped my mind...
Last saturday was mad-day. Actually every saturday is coz i have tuition with a bunch of monsters but last saturday was really bad.
Saturday class is very stressful as there is this girl in class whose parents complained that cannot learn coz the class is very noisy and the teacher dun teach den always give us work to do in class. I give them work to do in class coz when there worksheets leave the centreu, they nv make it back again. Either that or its nv do. SO i am very scared to give them homework den i always let them do in class. Now here's another problem, they are so noisy and always gossip den nv do work. Last Saturday i gave them like 6 super simple questions to finish and they keep taking longer and longer to finish. I was already very stressed over my 208 paper den i was not in a good mood. Den they still test my patience. A student even stood on the chair and when i shout at him to get down he screamed back at me. Den when i got him to stand outside, he even scold me si san ba. OMG.. what's the world coming to? Kids have totally no manners nowadays.
I jus found out this friday that the boy had a broken family den the dad dotes on him a lot. I think he is probably feeling very lost and thus explains his behaviour. But i think the parents are at fault too. My cousins' parents are divorced when they were quite young too but they do not seem to have such behaviour problems. And my students are about the same age as some of my cousins but somehow they are so different. They made me realised that my cousins are SOOOOOO well-behaved. They make my cousins look like angels.
And during today's class, sigh.. i got them to do a test.. den in the end.. they took so long to finish as usual... But they are more well-behaved today except for the boys. And i realised that they keep using vulgarities. actually its not really vulgaries but very indecent words like kao bei kao bu ( cry father cry mother in hokkien, meant to describe someone very naggy or noisy). They do not even know the meaning of what they are saying and they are using it like nothing. They even tell me that their parents say them at home. OMG... parents...
Sigh.. actually.. sometimes its not the teachers do not want to teach or cannot teach.. but the first education always begin at home. Its the place which will mould you into the future person. I am very grateful to my family. We are a very strict family and they do not condone mis-conducts. And thanks to my dad, i know that i cannot be like him. He always scold vulgarities but i guess its not his fault coz its the culture plus the lack of education. But my dad is a very nice person and i inherited my bad temper from him. My aunts also keep telling us that we cannot be like out dad coz we are educated and stuff. I guess not every kid is as sensible as me and they are the ones who need guidance from the parents or the teachers.

Seriously, i think that family influence is very important. Parents should always take it upon themselves to educated their children, especially on basics like manners and respect. They cannot always depend on the teacher one...
I sincerely hope i can help these kids out.. they are a nice bunch of kids but if no one helps them.. they are going to spoil their own future...
