Jus read this from a friend's blog. What were the things that changed the course of your life?
I think the top of the list would be going to RV. It really changed the course of my entire life. I cannot imagine what would have happened to me if I had chosen to enter the same neighourhood school as the rest of my friends. If I had not entered RV, I probably would not have such a high flyer in the family coz I would have lower standards of myself. I probably would not have achieved good grades for my o'levels with so little effort and I definitely would not have thought of even going to HC or even NJ and I would probably not be in NTU today. If I hadn't gone to RV, I would not have met those ppl from RV, not have joined St John and not have known hz and not have known my great friends from JC (both from NJ and HC) and definitely. And if I haven joined RV and was forced to cut my hair short, I would not have considered SJAB as my CCA. No doubt I drifted apart from my primary school clique; I have never ever regretted my choice for having gone to RV coz I've gained a lot more than I lost.
The second thing that changed my life was joining SJAB as my CCA. Joining St John was one of the wisest decision that I have made. I really loved the days as a St John cadet. All the courses and hardships helped to sculpt me into the person I am today. I used to be a willful, selfish, bad tempered and stubborn girl. St John made me grow out of my protected shell and threw me into a different world. I've learnt a lot of precious lessons that the school had never taught me. I've also made some very great friends whom I know I can always count on. I guess the most important thing that has happened to me was that I got to meet hz through St John. He was the nicest thing that has ever happened to me. So whenever my juniors asked me why I want to continue with St John, I guessed I was trying to repay St John for all that has happened to me. And I was hoping that I could make a difference in another person's life just like St John has made a difference to mine.
